Online NOC Application
The Department of Hydropower Development facilitates the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) required at various stages of hydropower project development. NOCs confirm that the department has no objection to the proposed activity and are a prerequisite for several downstream clearances.
The department is working towards digitizing the NOC application process to improve efficiency and transparency.
Types of NOCs
- NOC for commencement of survey and investigation works
- NOC for diversion of land and forest areas associated with the project
- NOC for water use and river diversion during construction
- NOC for transmission line routing through the project corridor
- NOC for establishment of construction camps and access roads
Application Process
- Developers must submit a written application along with supporting documents
- Applications are reviewed by the concerned Executive Engineer and Superintending Engineer
- The Director/Chief Engineer or Secretary approves the NOC based on technical merit
- Standard processing time is 45 working days, subject to inter-departmental coordination
Required Documents
- Copy of the allotment order and executed MoU
- Relevant sections of the approved DPR
- Site plans and maps showing the proposed activity area
- Environmental and forest clearance status (if applicable)
- Undertaking to comply with all applicable laws and regulations
