BPL Applicants
Write a clear application addressed to the Public Information Officer (PIO), DHPD. State the specific information you seek. Include your full name, postal address, and contact number. No reason needs to be given for requesting the information.
Attach an application fee of ₹10 via Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft payable to the Accounts Officer, Department of Hydropower Development. BPL cardholders are fully exempt — attach a copy of your BPL card.
Submit in person, by post, or via the National RTI Portal (rtionline.gov.in). Address to: The Public Information Officer, Department of Hydropower Development, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar.
You will receive an acknowledgement with a reference number upon submission. If submitting by post, include a self-addressed stamped envelope for the receipt.
The PIO must provide information within 30 days. For matters involving life or liberty, the response is within 48 hours. If additional fees are required for photocopying, you will be notified and the 30-day clock pauses until payment.
If unsatisfied with the response — or if no response is received — file a First Appeal with the First Appellate Authority (FAA) within 30 days. The FAA must decide within 30 days (extendable to 45 days with reasons).

You are not required to provide any reason for requesting information. However, make your request as specific and clearly worded as possible to receive accurate information promptly and avoid delays.
